On June 26, 2014, WEG Mexico and Abitat Construction Company symbolically laid the cornerstone of the largest expansion to any electric motor manufacturing plant in Mexico.
This begins the first step in the growth WEG Mexico will have in the next five years. This latest expansion continues to show the commitment WEG has in North American market.

The cornerstone was laid (from left to right) by the Architect Daniel Corral, Architect Estela Fernandez, Engineer Saúl Chavez and Architect Augusto O. Champion representing Abitat Construction Company, and by representatives of WEG Mexico: Production Director Giovani Beltrame, Managing Director Julio Ramires, Industrial Director Bruno Burdzaki and Administration and Finance Director Pablo Guerrero.

The planned expansion from two to four industrial buildings is scheduled to be complete by the end of this year and adds a total of 24,000 square meters to the existing facilities, including production area and offices.

These investments in Mexico are the result of the continuous and sustainable growth that WEG has maintained throughout the world, reflecting the commitment and close relationship they have with all our customers.
