B3 announced last Friday, November 29, the composition of the 15th portfolio of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and WEG, for the 10th time, was selected as the sole representative of the Machinery and Equipment segment.

The companies holding the 200 most liquid shares in B3 were invited to the ISE B3 process. This year 178 companies were invited. From this list, 46 applied for the process. Of these, 36 shares from 30 companies were selected for the new 2020 portfolio, three above the previous portfolio, with a market value of R$1.64 trillion ( ≈ US$390 billion).

In addition to the questionnaire responses, the selection process also includes an analysis of the documents submitted by the companies to support the information provided and a final approval conducted by the ISE Deliberative Council, CISE. The technical management of this process is conducted by B3, with the assurance of KPMG.

Sustainability has been increasingly considered by the market and by companies in Brazil. This year B3's the top five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were: affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, and environment protection.

The inclusion of WEGE3’s shares in ISE, which has been occurring consistently for some years, shows the Company’s commitment with corporate governance, social responsibility and sustainable development. The new ISE Index will be valid from January 6, 2020 to January 1, 2021.
