On May 27, WEG Portugal, in collaboration with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation (IPST), held a solidarity initiative for blood collection and registration of new bone marrow donors. The event took place at the company’s facilities and saw significant participation from the employees, reflecting a strong spirit of solidarity and social responsibility.
Throughout the day, dozens of employees actively took part, helping to strengthen blood reserves and expand the pool of potential bone marrow donors—crucial for the treatment of various hematological diseases. These donations can help save up to 200 lives!
The IPST praised the success of the campaign, highlighting that cooperation with private organizations is essential to effectively meet the ongoing demand for blood and compatible bone marrow donors.
This initiative, which the company has promoted semiannually for several years, reflects WEG's continued commitment to social responsibility and community well-being. The strong engagement of employees demonstrates the positive impact that simple actions can have on many people’s lives.
