Social Investment Policy
WEG seeks to positively impact the local communities where it operates.
The Social Investment Policy seeks to support applications for social projects that promote social inclusion, health, education and culture, which are important to stimulate a fairer society with more opportunities and quality of life for people.
Defining criteria and procedures to use financial, human and material resources in Social Investment, establishing a relationship with the community in social actions, in line with WEG’s Mission, Vision, Purpose and Values.

Being a volunteer is to give your time, work and talent to the causes of the community and social interest, thus improving the life quality of the people affected by such action.
Volunteering is a two way street, where generosity and self-giving are not the only things involved, but also the opening for new experiences, opportunities for learning, pleasure in being useful, expansion of social networking and professional development.

BIODIVERSITY
For WEG, ecosystems and forests are of utmost importance. For this reason, WEG seeks to incorporate biodiversity preservation into its management practices, in alignment with the guidelines of the WEG Sustainability Policy. The company recognizes the importance of forest protection and understands that this is a shared responsibility. Therefore, practices aimed at preserving biodiversity and natural forests are constantly being improved.
Stakeholder Engagement
WEG strengthens its engagement on the topic of biodiversity with its stakeholders through close and integrated action. This relationship is established through multiple channels, including dialogue with local communities, customers, investors, and suppliers. Below, we present some concrete examples of these interactions focused on biodiversity conservation.
WEG recognizes that responsible action throughout the entire value chain is essential. Therefore, all new suppliers undergo an evaluation and selection process based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, in which biodiversity is specifically considered. In addition, WEG’s Sustainability Policy defines the responsibilities and strategies aimed at promoting sustainable development, structured into Pillars, Themes, and Strategic Objectives. Developed with stakeholder participation, the policy reinforces the strategic objective of biodiversity preservation, highlighting that the topic is addressed in a cross-cutting manner and integrated into the corporate culture. The policy guidelines apply to all audiences engaged with WEG, including employees, managers, service providers, suppliers, and business partners, reinforcing collective engagement in favor of environmental conservation and the appreciation of biodiversity across all company operations.
En otra iniciativa orientada a la valorización de la biodiversidad y al cuidado de los espacios urbanos, WEG (unidad Sertãozinho) realizó la plantación de plántulas de árboles nativos en un área verde adoptada por la empresa. La acción también incluyó la recolección de residuos, la aplicación de compost orgánico y el riego de las plántulas recién plantadas, reforzando el compromiso con prácticas sostenibles.
En respuesta a un incendio que afectó un área del municipio donde WEG tiene operaciones, WEG demostró su compromiso con la responsabilidad socioambiental al contribuir activamente a la recuperación de la vegetación local. A través de la donación de plántulas nativas y la movilización voluntaria de su equipo para la plantación, la empresa unió esfuerzos con la gestión municipal en la restauración de un espacio público, reforzando su papel como agente de transformación positiva en la comunidad.
La educación ambiental también es un tema relevante de acción para WEG. Durante dos semanas, el Programa de Vacaciones en el Museo WEG recibió a 220 niños de la comunidad local en actividades que combinaron juegos, experiencias y descubrimientos. Una de las actividades destacadas fue la acción “Animales de la Región”, realizada en colaboración con FUJAMA (Fundación Jaraguaense de Medio Ambiente). El principal objetivo de la iniciativa fue promover la educación ambiental, sensibilizando a los participantes sobre la importancia de preservar la biodiversidad local.
Durante la acción, se presentaron animales disecados que representaban especies de la fauna regional. La actividad permitió demostrar de manera práctica y educativa el papel esencial de cada especie en el equilibrio de los ecosistemas, sus hábitats naturales, hábitos alimentarios y los riesgos asociados con la pérdida de biodiversidad. La interacción directa con los ejemplares despertó el interés del público y amplió la comprensión sobre la riqueza de la fauna local. La actividad contribuyó al compromiso de la comunidad local, reforzando la importancia de conservar las áreas naturales como condición fundamental para la supervivencia de estas especies.
