Project summary: Hemodialysis treatment is essential for patients with chronic kidney failure but brings a series of challenges, including malnutrition and deterioration in quality of life. Malnutrition in renal patients is a common and often underdiagnosed condition that can exacerbate disease symptoms, impair treatment response, and increase mortality. During hemodialysis sessions, patients lose essential nutrients that are difficult to replenish through regular diet alone. Additionally, anorexia, a frequent condition among these patients, further worsens the nutritional situation, compromising overall health and hindering adherence to dialysis treatment.

The donated blood is also tested for transmissible diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, and others.

Project summary: This project aims to expand the number of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams for patients assisted by the Unified Health System (SUS), enhancing treatment effectiveness through the acquisition of advanced imaging diagnostic equipment. The new equipment offers modern techniques that allow for precise diagnosis of conditions that are not clearly visible with other devices, such as neoplasms of the brain, spinal cord, lungs, liver, bones, prostate, breast, and uterus; differentiation between cancerous and non-malignant fibrocystic breast nodules; breast cancer in patients with implants or very dense breast tissue; and issues related to the brain and spinal cord, among others. With the new equipment, services will be provided more quickly and accurately, improving the technical quality of the exams.
