Specialized in retrofit, repairs and services for motors and generators, WEG Operation, in São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo, Brazil), completed another repair process on a medium-voltage electrical machine applied in a classified area of a petrochemical company in the south region of Brazil.

The machine was sent to WEG without the original certified documents. Even though, counting on a well-designed physical structure and the support of qualified and trained personnel, the company carried out a complete rewinding of the stator and repaired several components meeting all the requirements of the IEC 60079-19 Standard. Due to this, it was possible to maintain the original design of the machine, which was not WEG brand, complying with the standard applicable to the type of protection "Ex nA II T3".

These entire repair services were intended to guarantee the safety of people and facilities at the petrochemical company, allowing the production process of the plant classified as Zone 2 to come back to regular operation. “It is one of our specialties to perform repair services on machines from other manufacturers, particularly for classified areas. This specific job also met customer demand for an extremely challenging time frame and it was possible to meet all of the commitments we made,” said Paulo Sinoti, Executive Director of TGM, a WEG Group company.
