Upon a partnership agreement signed with Renault, WEG will be supplying charging stations for the new Kwid E-TECH Electric car. Recently imported into the country, Kwid E-TECH is Renault´s most affordable car within the electric range. Available for sale at Renault dealers including charging stations and at Renault on Demand with customized rental plans. The new car is regarded as an innovative mobility solution for the Brazilian market. "This is a further step towards the future of mobility. Besides offering sustainable solutions, we are doing our best efforts to make our customers’ journey easier and support environmental transition in Brazil," says Ricardo Mendes, head of Mobilize in Brazil.

Designed to meet power, speed, connectivity and safety requirements for electric vehicles charging, the WEMOB Stations (WEG Electric Mobility) that will be included in WEG's scope of supply to Mobilize/Renault customers are 7.4 kW WALL and 22 kW PARKING types, with one or two simultaneous charging plugs. Designed for individual or shared use in residences, condominiums, public and private parking lots, companies and fleet owners, both work in voltages commonly found in Brazilian cities and provide all protections required by national and international standards. Fully protected against UV radiation and resistant to water and dust impact, the equipment is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation. WEMOB charging stations are designed and manufactured in Brazil, offer a modern design and allow connection to the internet and management platforms for measuring and sharing the consumption of each user. In addition, the equipment counts on accessories such as fixing pedestals, cards allowing access control via proximity (RFID – radiofrequency identification) and cell phone applications.

As stated by Manfred Peter Johann, Managing Director of WEG Automation Business Unit, the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Brazil increasingly needs to be expanded. “Our scope with Mobilize ranges from customer service of a light vehicle users to fleet owner engaged in reducing greenhouse gases with their transport logistics,” says Manfred.

In Brazil, WEG is already one of the official suppliers of charging stations for Renault's Zoe and Kangoo electric cars.
