WEG was the winner of the National Innovation Award in the Product Innovation - Large Company category, with "WEG Motor Scan" product. This innovative technology consists of monitoring system sensors for electric motors, which complies with Industry 4.0 concepts.

WEG was also one of three finalists in the Innovation Management category, among large companies. As an initiative of the Entrepreneurial Mobilization for Innovation (MEI) Institute, in partnership with the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Companies (Sebrae), the award recognizes the successful efforts for innovation and innovation management in organizations with business operations in Brazil.

WEG Motor Scan, the award-winning innovation for WEG, is a solution that monitors electric motor parameters such as temperature and vibration, sends them to the cloud where they are processed and can be accessed through Apps and the IoT platform. Based on data collected and then sent to the cloud, it is possible to make faster and more precise decisions, especially in cases of predictive maintenance, ensuring improved efficiency and extended electric motor life time. In addition, the system allows configuration of the sensor to trigger alerts based on this data and to make the monitoring of several electric motors in the factory easier.

Among 1746 projects taking part of the National Innovation Award (CNI) event, 26 of them were finalists and 15 companies were awarded.

The awarding ceremony took place in São Paulo on June 10, and WEG was represented by Milton Oscar Castella, Engineering Director.
