About this Product

Description

In general, a switch works as a controller, allowing devices on the network to exchange information with each other efficiently. It is an essential grouping and communication element on Ethernet networks that connect different devices at a single point, thus offering greater flexibility for the network infrastructure and reducing expenses on basic structures.

The SWU industrial Ethernet switches perform essential functions in evolving network architectures, being fundamental for the continued growth of companies that have connectivity as a strategy to optimize their production processes.

Benefits

  • Compact, no need for additional space;
  • IP30 protection rating: ideal for panel installation;
  • Made with robust metal frame that protects against shocks;
  • Easy installation with Plug & Play accessories;
  • Versatile and compatible with several solutions.

Technology and functions

Flexible, the SWU line provides a robust and compact Ethernet connection for industrial applications, enabling communication with various devices in a simple and friendly way, without requiring complex configurations.

The optimized connectivity of the SWU industrial Ethernet switches brings immediate benefits for your devices and manufacturing plant, such as reduced costs and monitoring installation, ideal for the growing demand for communication networks. The SWU line can also be used to set up the VLAN to group devices logically, according to the work departments. The switch receives a message from any device connected to the network and transmits it only to the device to which the message is addressed. That increases efficiency, as it determines the destination address and port for each frame that circulates on the network, handling and transmitting data among various devices within that LAN.

The SWU line offers 12 to 48 V dc power supply and easy and versatile DIN-rail or flat-surface mounting to meet the requirements of different environments and applications, in addition to a wide range of standard operating temperature, from -10 to 60°C.

Applications

The SWU line can be used in the most varied applications, from the smallest to the largest manufacturing plants. The models are compatible with different types of devices, which makes your application scalable in performance and functionality, allowing you to design customized solutions with excellent cost-effectiveness.

Main characteristics

  • Safety at the power supply: the redundant power input design works as backup protection for the input, preventing damage to the switch device due to incorrect power wiring. When one of the power inputs fails, the P-Fail LED will light up and an alarm will be sent via a relay output to notify the user.
  • Advanced protection: the SWU has a line surge protection system up to 3,000 V dc and 4,000 V ESD for Ethernet ports. That ensures device stability and safety against voltage variations, making the system safer and more reliable. Besides, the SWU has a resettable fuse to ensure that the device component is not damaged by overcurrent.
  • Intuitive and easy to manage: LED indicators make troubleshooting intuitive and streamline management. Each 10/100 Base-TX port has two LEDs that show the communication status, transmission speed, and collision status, in addition to the three power indicator LEDs P1, P2, and P-Fail, which help immediately diagnose the power status.
