Operation
During the switching of the CWMC contactors, the pre-charge resistors in series with reactive load reduce the in-rush current peaks, which occur in this kind of operation. After the pre-charge, the main contacts close, allowing the passage of the rated current For reactive powers above 15 kVAr (220V) and 25 kVAr (380V/440), it is recommended to subdivide the capacitor bank into smaller modules and switch them with CWMC contactors.
