A inven\u00e7\u00e3o partiu de um grupo de cientistas do <em>Lawrence Berkeley Nacional Laboratory<\/em>, da Universidade Estadual de Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Conforme o estudo publicado pelos pesquisadores, futuramente o painel de vidro fotovoltaico poder\u00e1 ser usado para fornecer energia el\u00e9trica para casas, pr\u00e9dios e carros, substituindo os pain\u00e9is tradicionais, isso sem contar dispositivos menores como uma TV ou celular, que aplicariam o vidro \u201cenergiz\u00e1vel\u201d em suas telas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-849\" src=\"https:\/\/www.weg.net\/tomadas\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/converter-energia-solar-em-el\u00e9trica-2.png\" alt=\"converter-energia-solar-em-el\u00e9trica-3\" width=\"900\" height=\"406\" \/><\/p>\n<p>O vidro \u00e9 revestido por um l\u00edquido semicondutor que cont\u00e9m diversos compostos qu\u00edmicos, como c\u00e9sio e iodeto de chumbo. Em temperatura ambiente, ele \u00e9 transparente e permite a passagem de 82% da luz. No entanto, aquecido at\u00e9 105 <sup>o<\/sup>C, assume uma colora\u00e7\u00e3o alaranjada e se torna mais opaco, deixando passar apenas 35% da luz.<\/p>\n<p>Por conta dessa caracter\u00edstica, ele apresenta outra vantagem, que \u00e9 permitir a passagem de menos calor para os locais, diminuindo assim o consumo de energia em ambientes revestidos com o novo vidro. No entanto, o painel converte apenas 7% em energia el\u00e9trica e este \u00edndice precisa, segundo os pesquisadores, chegar a 10% para se tornar economicamente vi\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n<p>Outro desafio da equipe \u00e9 reduzir a fronteira de temperatura a partir da qual o vidro come\u00e7a a gerar energia, de 221 <sup>o<\/sup>F (105 <sup>o<\/sup>C) para 122 <sup>o<\/sup>F (50 <sup>o<\/sup>C), que corresponde a temperatura m\u00e1xima que um painel de vidro na lateral de um pr\u00e9dio comercial atinge. Assim, as janelas seriam transparentes pela manh\u00e3 e escureceriam \u00e0 medida que o calor aumentasse.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-850\" src=\"https:\/\/www.weg.net\/tomadas\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/converter-energia-solar-em-el\u00e9trica-3.png\" alt=\"converter-energia-solar-em-el\u00e9trica-3\" width=\"900\" height=\"406\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Assim como essa, outras tecnologias v\u00eam sendo apresentadas para aproveitar essa fonte de energia limpa que \u00e9 o sol.
