Electric motor reliability is essential to ensuring the continuity of industrial processes. With specialized infrastructure and a highly qualified team, WEG Mexico reaffirms its ability to perform highly complex maintenance services on medium-voltage motors, providing solutions that help maximize the availability and performance of critical assets.

As part of this capability, WEG performed major preventive maintenance on two WEG electric motors belonging to SEMEBSA and Cementos Fortaleza, companies operating in the mining and cement sectors. All work was carried out at WEG Mexico’s service center in Huehuetoca, which is equipped with specialized facilities, engineering expertise, testing laboratories and certified personnel to service large industrial equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards.

The project involved maintenance on a WEG MAW 500 motor rated at 1,865 kW and an MAF 500 motor rated at 1,600 kW. Both motors operate at 6.6 kV and belong to the Master line. The scope of work included a comprehensive inspection, mechanical and electrical diagnostics, certified electrical testing, dynamic balancing, bearing replacement, restoration of the cooling system, winding impregnation and the use of genuine WEG spare parts. Upon completion, the equipment was delivered with comprehensive technical reports, laboratory test results and photographic records documenting every stage of the service.

By performing the maintenance directly, WEG provides significant operational benefits to its customers, including increased equipment reliability, reduced risk of unexpected failures, greater operational availability and extended motor service life. In addition, by minimizing unplanned downtime and reducing the need for corrective maintenance, the solution helps lower the total cost of ownership of these assets.
