The study is one of the largest on company climate in Brazil. It's conducted in cooperation with employees from each of the participating companies. For this edition, approximately 500 WEG employees, selected through a raffle, took part in the study.
In all, about 500 companies participated. The methodology for choosing the top 150 was modeled after a similar study conducted annually by the United States' Fortune magazine. The printed edition of the Guide, with information about all 150 companies, was released during the awards ceremony on August 15, 2006. CEOs and directors of the winning companies were invited to take part in the ceremony. Marketing and Human Resources Director, Jaime Richter, received the award on behalf of WEG.
Exame magazine celebrates the Guide's tenth anniversary in 2006. WEG is mentioned in a special article in the anniversary edition for representing a real Model of Management.
The Guide was inspired by the book "The Best Companies to Work for in America" written by North American consultant, Robert Levering. More than an inspiration, Levering and his team became partners with Exame for the Brazilian version. In its very first edition, 30 companies were chosen as the Best Companies to Work for in Brazil. In the next two editions, the list was extended to 50 companies. In 2000, the publication became even larger, with 100 companies.
Today, more and more companies are improving their management models and their human resources policies, with the objective of being included among the best. For these reasons, the publication has become a reference in the job market and the companies listed in the Guide have become models of employee management. WEG is honored to once again be among the best companies to work for in Brazil.
