WEG announces the signing of binding agreements for investment and acquisition of approximately 54% of the share capital of Tupinambá Energia (“Tupi Mob”), a company with a prominent presence in the market for software and comprehensive services for managing electric vehicle charging networks. The total investment is R$ 38 million, subject to price adjustments typical of this type of transaction. The agreement between the companies still depends on fulfilling customary closing conditions, including obtaining all regulatory approvals that are required in connection with the transaction.
Founded 2019 in São Paulo, Tupi Mob owns the Tupi App, a robust digital platform connecting electric vehicle users to charging networks. With over 370,000 registered users and over 1.3 million recharges completed, it has already supplied 26 GWh of energy. Tupi Mob is strategically positioned in the electric mobility ecosystem, integrating energy suppliers, charging station manufacturers, network operators, automakers, and end users. Its operations are recognized for offering comprehensive and customized solutions to major automotive brands and charging station operators.
“The acquisition of Tupi reinforces WEG’s commitment to offering a comprehensive solution for the electric charging market, combining hardware, software, support, and advanced digital services. With the integration of platforms, WEG expands its ability to connect thousands of users to vehicle charging providers, facilitating access to charging infrastructure and promoting the sustainable growth of electric mobility in the country,” explains Carlos José Bastos Grillo, Managing Director of WEG’s Digital and Systems Unit.
Operating as an electric mobility service provider (eMSP), Tupi Mob offers the Tupi app for users and the Tupi Conecta platform, which enables the management of charging networks by major automotive brands and charging point operators. The operation has 36 employees, moved approximately R$ 40 million recharges in the last 12 months and recorded net revenue of R$ 8.6 million in 2024. Tupi Mob strengthens WEG's strategy of leading the transformation of the electric mobility sector. The acquisition also paves the way for the gradual expansion of the model in international markets, consolidating an innovative and efficient ecosystem for electric vehicle charging.
