In pursuit of more sustainable and efficient production processes, WEG constantly invests in the modernization of its manufacturing facilities. The project carried out at the Stamping Plant of the Jaraguá do Sul unit involved the complete replacement of the drive system of the steel sheet cutting line, as part of an Energy Efficiency and technological innovation program.

High performance with cutting-edge technology

Six WEG W23 Sync+ synchronous motors were installed, in different power ranges (from 50 hp to 500 hp), along with six CFW11 frequency inverters. The state-of-the-art set replaced the old direct current motors, which required frequent maintenance stops and offered lower energy efficiency.

The impact was immediate: the process recorded a reduction of approximately 30% in electricity consumption. In addition, the replacement brought significant gains in operational reliability, reduced maintenance costs, and greater flexibility in controlling the production process.

Efficiency, technology, and sustainability

This project represents not only progress for the manufacturing unit but also an example of how WEG applies in its own structure the same solutions it offers to the market. This reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

The modernization also aligns with the company’s global commitments, which include reducing greenhouse gas emissions and continuously investing in technologies that support the energy transition. By replacing direct current motors with permanent magnet synchronous motors, WEG not only saves energy but also extends equipment lifespan and contributes to reducing environmental impact.

More than just numbers, the project highlights WEG’s mission to be a leader in transforming Brazilian industry, combining efficiency, technology, and sustainability.
