WEG seeks to positively impact the local communities where it operates.
The Social Investment Policy seeks to support applications for social projects that promote social inclusion, health, education and culture, which are important to stimulate a fairer society with more opportunities and quality of life for people.
Defining criteria and procedures to use financial, human and material resources in Social Investment, establishing a relationship with the community in social actions, in line with WEG’s Mission, Vision, Purpose and Values.

BIODIVERSIDAD
Para WEG, los ecosistemas y los bosques son de extrema importancia. Por esta razón, WEG busca incorporar la preservación de la biodiversidad en sus prácticas de gestión de acuerdo con las directrices de la Política de Sostenibilidad de WEG. La empresa reconoce la importancia de la protección de los bosques y comprende que se trata de una responsabilidad compartida. Por ello, se mejoran constantemente las prácticas orientadas a la preservación de la biodiversidad y los bosques naturales.
Compromiso con las partes interesadas
WEG fortalece su compromiso con la biodiversidad con sus stakeholders a través de una acción cercana e integrada. Esta relación se establece mediante múltiples canales, incluyendo el diálogo con comunidades locales, clientes, inversores y proveedores. A continuación, presentamos algunos ejemplos concretos de estas interacciones orientadas a la conservación de la biodiversidad.
WEG reconoce que una actuación responsable a lo largo de toda la cadena de valor es fundamental; por ello, todos los nuevos proveedores pasan por un proceso de evaluación y selección basado en criterios sociales, ambientales y de gobernanza (ESG), en el que se considera específicamente la biodiversidad. Además, la Política de Sostenibilidad de WEG establece responsabilidades y estrategias orientadas a promover el desarrollo sostenible, estructuradas en Ejes, Temas y Objetivos Estratégicos. Desarrollada con la participación de los stakeholders, la política refuerza el objetivo estratégico de preservación de la biodiversidad, evidenciando que el tema se aborda de manera transversal e integrada en la cultura corporativa. Las directrices de la política se aplican a todos los públicos que se relacionan con WEG, incluidos empleados, gerentes, proveedores de servicios, proveedores y socios comerciales, reforzando el compromiso colectivo en favor de la conservación ambiental y la valorización de la biodiversidad en todas las operaciones de la empresa.
En otra iniciativa orientada a la valorización de la biodiversidad y al cuidado de los espacios urbanos, WEG (unidad Sertãozinho) realizó la plantación de plántulas de árboles nativos en un área verde adoptada por la empresa. La acción también incluyó la recolección de residuos, la aplicación de compost orgánico y el riego de las plántulas recién plantadas, reforzando el compromiso con prácticas sostenibles.
En respuesta a un incendio que afectó un área del municipio donde WEG tiene operaciones, WEG demostró su compromiso con la responsabilidad socioambiental al contribuir activamente a la recuperación de la vegetación local. A través de la donación de plántulas nativas y la movilización voluntaria de su equipo para la plantación, la empresa unió esfuerzos con la gestión municipal en la restauración de un espacio público, reforzando su papel como agente de transformación positiva en la comunidad.
Environmental education is also a key area of action for WEG. Over the course of two weeks, the WEG Museum Holiday Program welcomed 220 children from the local community for activities that combined games, hands-on experiences, and discovery. One of the highlights was the “Animals of the Region” activity, carried out in partnership with FUJAMA (Jaraguá do Sul Environmental Foundation). The main goal of the initiative was to promote environmental education by raising awareness among participants about the importance of preserving local biodiversity.
During the activity, taxidermized animals representing species from the regional fauna were presented. This educational and hands-on approach demonstrated the essential role each species plays in maintaining ecosystem balance, their natural habitats, dietary habits, and the risks associated with biodiversity loss. The direct interaction with the specimens sparked curiosity and enhanced the participants’ understanding of the richness of local wildlife. The initiative helped engage the local community, reinforcing the importance of conserving natural areas as a fundamental condition for the survival of these species.
