WEG is strengthening its presence in Türkiye with a new supply of automation technology for one of the country’s leading agricultural machinery manufacturers. The collaboration marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership in which WEG delivers a complete control and interface package for the development of a next-generation autonomous feeding robot designed specifically for livestock farms. 

The project integrates PLC410, WEG HMI, contactors and control buttons into a cohesive automation architecture. What elevates this solution, however, is the synergy between hardware and a tailored software platform. Using data collected from distance and optical sensors, the PLC processes real-time inputs that guide the robot along a defined route inside the farm. At each feeding point, the machine automatically adjusts its position and dispenses feed with consistent and accurate volume — an operational detail that significantly improves daily routines. 

A key enabler of this functionality is the real-time clock (RTC) built-in the PLC. Through it, farm operators can program hourly or daily work schedules, ensuring feeding cycles occur at fixed times and in predefined quantities. The concept mirrors the logic of industrial AGVs, but adapted to the demanding and repetitive environment of animal feeding operations.
