WEG has reinforced its position as a global provider of intelligent energy and automation solutions through the supply of advanced frequency drives for a smart solar pumping project developed by Riegosolar in Spain. Riegosolar is a Spanish engineering company based in Valladolid, dedicated to the application of solar energy solutions for agricultural irrigation systems. The project, implemented in the region of Castile-Leon, demonstrates how WEG technology enables efficient, autonomous and sustainable water management for agricultural applications, even in isolated locations.
For this project, WEG supplied a robust and high-performance drive solution based on its ADV200-SP and ADV50 series, specially designed for demanding pumping and renewable energy applications. The scope of supply included WEG frequency drives with different power ratings, configured to control and manage the operation of the pumping system with maximum efficiency and reliability. This solution ensures precise control of flow and pressure, operational stability, and optimized energy use throughout the irrigation process.
At the heart of the system, WEG drives manage the operation of the pumping infrastructure, enabling intelligent automation without the need for complex auxiliary energy systems. Through advanced control features such as integrated MPPT logic, DC link regulation and smart energy management, the WEG solution allows the system to adapt dynamically to available energy conditions, ensuring continuous operation and maximum performance under varying environmental conditions.
The WEG drives also play a central role in system automation and digital control. The pumping process is fully managed through a centralized control architecture, enabling autonomous operation, optimized water distribution and remote monitoring. This provides farmers with greater operational security, flexibility and ease of management, while significantly reducing operational costs and increasing system reliability.
By combining robust industrial design, high-efficiency power electronics and intelligent control algorithms, WEG delivers a solution that transforms complex pumping applications into stable, automated and energy-efficient systems. The project in Spain clearly demonstrates how WEG drives are not only components, but strategic elements in the creation of complete, integrated and future-ready solutions for sustainable agriculture.
With this project, WEG once again proves its commitment to innovation, energy efficiency and sustainable development, delivering technology that meets real market demands and supports the global transition toward smarter, cleaner and more efficient infrastructure solutions.
