WEG is advancing the expansion of its manufacturing site in Portugal with the construction of a new 7,500 m² logistics warehouse, consolidating its strategic role within WEG’s European operations. This investment increases operational capacity and frees up essential areas to strengthen the production of medium- and high-voltage motors, enabling even more competitive delivery times for demanding industrial applications.
In response to the global call for transformation, WEG delivers solutions that combine efficiency, sustainability and technological innovation. In Europe, the Portuguese unit focuses on project management and service management for complete and advanced energy solutions for power grids, supported by a broad product portfolio including motors, frequency drives, transformers, synchronous condensers, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and a complete line of electric vehicle chargers. These technologies continue to be manufactured across the company’s various factories, while WEG in Portugal leads engineering coordination, technical integration support, logistics preparation, installation and commissioning assistance, as well as lifecycle services for the European market.
The expansion creates the conditions for the future local production of electric vehicle chargers, reinforcing WEG’s contribution to electric mobility and to the energy transition in Europe.
This positioning is aligned with four strategic pillars of WEG:
- Energy Efficiency: doing more with less;
- Operational Efficiency: automation, electrification and digitalization for greater productivity and savings;
- Renewable Energy: promoting a cleaner energy matrix;
- Electric Mobility: complete solutions for vehicles and charging infrastructure.
WEG is prepared to respond to the global demand for responsible transformation.
The world asks for efficiency. WEG delivers with intelligence.
The world asks for sustainability. WEG delivers with responsibility.
The world asks for the future. WEG delivers today.
With this investment, WEG consolidates Portugal as a strategic European hub — closer to customers, faster in response, stronger in engineering integration and fully aligned with the priorities of Europe’s energy transition.
When the world asks, WEG delivers.
