WEG announces the acquisition of the transformer and substation manufacturing business from Hawker Siddeley Electric Africa (Pty) Ltd. in South Africa. The plant will be a new subsidiary – WEG Transformers Africa (Pty) Ltd.

Hawker Siddeley Electric Africa was one of the first companies to make mini-substations and has become one of the largest mini-substation and distribution transformer manufacturers in South Africa, with capacity to develop, design and manufacture the full line o products to meet the demands of the industrial sector in the country.

WEG Zest is working according to the group global plan, which aims at accelerating its growth so as to expand WEG global chain of businesses and factories, increasing the sales by 17% yearly in order to reach total sales of US $ 10 billion by 2020.
