WEG, through its commercial operation in Peru, has completed a new delivery of its antibacterial powder coating system, strengthening its presence in the healthcare sector. The supply was made directly to METAX, a leading Peruvian manufacturer of medical furniture.

The product applied was POLITHERM NOBAC, a system developed by WEG for environments where hygiene is critical. The delivery took place in October 2025, and the coating was applied to dialysis chairs intended for export to Mexico, meeting high standards of finish and protection.

The powder coating system inhibits the proliferation of bacteria and fungi throughout the product’s entire service life, helping to maintain high hygiene levels and prevent the presence of microorganisms harmful to health. Its effectiveness is validated under the Japanese standard JIS Z 2801:2000, which evaluates antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.

In addition to its antimicrobial properties, the coating offers excellent adhesion, flexibility, physical and chemical resistance, and is applied through an electrostatic process, ensuring durability and a high-quality finish.

For METAX, this addition represents an important step toward technical differentiation of its portfolio, opening opportunities in projects and tenders that value solutions with added value in health and safety.

From WEG’s perspective, this project reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainable development, and the supply of specialized coatings for sectors that are increasingly demanding in terms of hygiene, reliability, and performance.
