WEG is expanding its presence in the elevator segment with the supply of the ADL550 frequency converter, applied in a new residential elevator solution developed by ORBA-Lift Aufzugsdienst GmbH, a German company with expertise in elevator systems since 1959.

The project started in December 2025, as part of a partnership between WEG and ORBA-Lift to develop an elevator solution showcased at the Messe Chemnitz trade fair, which later evolved into a commercial application for the Home Lift market.

The application features the WEG ADL550 2.2 kW frequency converter, single-phase power supply, and closed-loop control, providing precise motion control and ensuring efficient, smooth, and reliable elevator operation.

Designed for elevator applications, the ADL550 offers advanced control functions and easy integration with different system architectures, enabling seamless communication with the NewLift (ECO) controller through parallel I/O communication.

The solution was developed for a residential elevator with a capacity of 630 kg, two floors, and a maximum travel speed of 0.15 m/s, also including an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system for emergency operation.

With a compact and efficient architecture, the system demonstrates the ADL550’s ability to meet modern vertical transportation requirements, combining performance, intelligent features, and ease of commissioning. Its integration capability reinforces WEG’s flexibility in delivering customized solutions for elevator applications.

For ORBA-Lift, a company with extensive experience in passenger elevators, freight lifts, car lifts, bed lifts, and home lifts, the partnership with WEG represents another step toward innovative and reliable solutions for the European market.

With applied technology and integrated engineering, WEG transforms challenges into smart solutions that move people with greater efficiency, safety, and reliability.
