The supplied WCG20 gearmotors stand out for their modularity, robustness, and standardization. They are responsible for the travel movement of yard machines, directly supporting the transport and handling of materials essential to the steel production process.

In addition to their high efficiency (96% efficiency rate), a single model was applied in both yards (raw material and coal), reducing component variety and simplifying maintenance management. This standardization streamlines inventory control, lowers operating costs, and increases equipment availability.

Tailor-Made Solutions to Maximize Investment

One of WEG-CESTARI’s key differentiators is its ability to develop interchangeable solutions, enabling direct replacement of the installed base while reducing downtime and adaptation costs.

The project was developed with a reinforced output flange, specified to withstand the high radial loads generated by externally mounted gears on the output shaft. This allowed the reuse of the gears already installed by the company, minimizing replacement costs and reducing machine downtime during the drive system replacement.

With a modular housing, integrated brake motor, and direct mounting on the driven machine, the WCG20 gearmotors fully meet the reliability and safety requirements demanded by the steel industry environment.
