WEG is participating in the third edition of the “Soy Mujer, Soy Electricista” program, an initiative launched in June 2025 in partnership with INDECO, SENATI, Sonepar and Legrand, with the objective of promoting inclusion and the professional development of women in the electrical industry in Peru.

In this edition, 20 full scholarships were granted for free and specialized training in electrical installations, provided by SENATI, a leading institution in industrial technical education in the country. The opening ceremony took place at the institute’s facilities and was attended by representatives of the partner companies and the selected participants.

The program focuses on developing technical and practical skills, preparing participants to work safely and professionally in a traditionally male-dominated sector. In addition to professional training, the initiative seeks to expand women’s access to opportunities in the electrical field, contributing to the promotion of gender equality and the transformation of the industrial environment.

The importance of the project is reinforced by the current scenario: according to the Inter-American Development Bank, only 29% of women in Peru choose careers in science, technology or mathematics. In this context, initiatives such as this play an important role in increasing female participation in strategic sectors.

By supporting the program, WEG reinforces its commitment to diversity, inclusion and technical-professional development, contributing to a more qualified, representative industry aligned with society’s demands.
