This is WEG's way of doing business as a global company operating in the automation and control and switchgear sector. Since beginning its operations 45 years ago, WEG has implemented advanced procedures and state-of-the-art technology in all of its production processes. The combination of skilled personnel, and continually-updated manufacturing methods and processes, in addition to high tech laboratories, ensures that WEG products are suited to the widest range of applications and operating environments worldwide.

Launchings and Updates (Available for USA from August 2007)

Recent product launches and updated international certifications bear testimony to WEG's innovation and quality at global level. Exemplifying WEG's twin track approach is the recent launch of a new generation of mini-contactors, the CWC line. Produced by WEG's Control and Switchgear Division, the CWC mini-contactors benefit from the most advanced technology in their design, positioning WEG as a market leader among manufacturers o components for the control and protection of electric motors and electric circuits. The CWC line offers users the benefits of reduced dimensions for its current rating: up to 16A at AC-3 utilization category; hence, it consumes less space inside control enclosures. In addition, keeping the same dimensions for both AC and DC control makes designs and assemblies much easier. Also benefiting the OEM and panel generated by the CWC units with DC control, and also the fact that the coils are low consumption types; this allows them to be directly operated from a PLC without interface relays.
With the aid of FEA-based electromagnetic and mechanical analysis software, it has been possible to optimize the size of the CWC mini-contactors, and yet still achieve superior levels of performance. For example, the CWC line offers excellent performance in respect of low levels of contact "bounce" when closing. Moreover, its contacts have very low bouncing, which results in extended electrical endurance for the product, reducing wear of contacts and allowing an operating current of 16A (AC-3 utilization category).
