O formato especial da mola do terminal permite o encaixe seguro dos condutores. A mola de contato é aberta automaticamente durante a inserção do condutor e garante a força necessária para prensar o condutor contra a barra condutora de corrente. A estrutura do corpo da mola garante também o travamento progressivo e antivibração do condutor. A abertura da mola para liberação do condutor é feita através do acionador, por meio de ferramenta comum com ponta tipo fenda.
