CEO of WEG for 18 years and current Chairman of the Board, Décio da Silva was awarded the Business Leader Forum Awards in the category Business Leader of Santa Catarina state. Like Décio da Silva, five other businessmen – Giuliano Donini, from Marisol; Guilherme Weege, from Malwee; Evaldo Dreher and Amaury Olsen, from Tigre – are among the 150 people honored with the award.
In all, more than one thousand businessmen and industry experts from all over Brazil will receive awards at the event which will be held on November 29 at the Golden Hall of the WTC Convention Center in São Paulo. Décio da Silva, Giuliano Donini and Evaldo Dreher were considered the most relevant leaderships by the business community of Santa Catarina while Guilherme Weege and Amaury Olsen were considered national sector leaders in the textile and plastic sectors, respectively.
Besides being WEG Chairman of the Board, Décio da Silva actively participates in several entities of the region as chairman of the board of Oxford, member of the board of BRFoods, Iochpe, Algar Group, and he also takes part in the Advisory Board of ABINEE (Electrical and Electronics Industry Association) and IEDI (Industrial Development Study Institute).
