The Roy Hill project applies cutting edge technology, remote operating control, high levels of automation and cross industrialized methodologies to achieve reliable, sustained and low cost production of iron ore that is known to the market for it quality and grade.

WEG Australia Pty. Ltd has successfully won the tender for two of the main suppliers for the Roy Hill Project, to supply 35 large induction machines, which will run high efficiency pumps supplied by two WEG OEMs.

WEG Australia’s success in winning this tender is attributed to the fact that among the companies in the running for this project, WEG Australia was among a small selection of companies to not only supply high efficiency products, which was one of the main requirements for this job, but to also be able to deliver in the time frame specified, thanks to WEG’s global manufacturing capabilities.

“We are very pleased to have been awarded this landmark project and look forward to strengthening our relationship with these two important Australian OEMs”, said Romo Herzog, Managing Director of WEG Australia Pty Ltd

About the Roy Hill Project:

The 55 million tons per annum (Mtpa), Roy Hill Project is the next iron ore mining, rail & port project to be developed in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is a world-class, low phosphorus, Marra Mamba iron ore deposit located in the Pilbara – one of the world’s premier iron ore provinces – and the only independent iron ore project with West Australian majority ownership. The Roy Hill Project has a defined mineralization of more than 2.4 billion tons of +55% Fe iron ore, enough to sustain a mine life of more than 20 years, with Roy Hill aiming to load its first shipment of ore for export in 2015 (© Copyright Roy Hill 2012).
