Picture: The solar generating structure is installed near WEG´s manufacturing plant

Present in the country for over 25 years with its own operations, WEG has been expanding the business consistently as a key player in the manufacture and supply of electric motors, drives, electric panels, transformers, and providing services to Argentinian customers. Within its expansion strategy and to meet clean energy demands, the company started a project for the installation of 80 solar panels that, in a first stage will generate 25 kWp (peak), which is enough to meet part of the daily energy demand in San Francisco’s facilities, Province of Cordoba.

To be in operation, in a few weeks from now, the objective of this investment is to supply about 12 percent of the yearly energy required by the plant operation.

Managing Director for the WEG Argentinian subsidiary, Juarez Kissmann, explains that this initiative "aims at saving the amount of electricity required by the plant with the generation of clean and sustainable energy. By doing that, WEG is in line with the country directives that establish the need for companies to start using renewable energy sources".

Kissmann said that they are preparing the facilities for two reasons: in addition to promoting this initiative, "we also show customers and businessmen how the company is dedicated to this task".

After this first stage, Kissmann commented that "we will have to continue installing solar panels in compliance with national regulations since our plan is to continue increasing the use of solar energy for the benefit of the environment".
