The project of the car, Ipet No 50, was assembled in conjunction with students of Electronics from an Argentinian school. The vehicle, a Fiat Uno, can run two hours without recharging at an average speed of 50 km per hour. WEG, besides supplying the motor and inverter for the drive, also provided engineering support during the equipment adjustment phase through its branch in Argentina.

A 5.5 hp motor, a CFW11 24A inverter, and 24 batteries of 12V 25Ah were used in this electric vehicle prototype. The project shows once more that WEG is seen as a solution provider for its customers.

The manager of the Electric and Mechanic Projects Department (Automation), Valter Luiz Knihs, points out WEG’s support in the electric drive projects, even abroad, like this case in Argentina. “The industry of electric drive is important and strategic for WEG, aligned with our vision of efficiency and sustainability”, he says.

WEG is currently working on several projects of hybrid and electric only vehicles, such as the trolleybus and hybrid buses – as a supplier already – and on prototypes of pickup trucks, trucks, city cars, golf carts and tricycles.
