For the first time a Brazilian company supplies power transformers to Itaipu Binacional Hidrelétrica.These were the first machines in the world to undergo real VFT - Very Fast Transient applications in the final tests. TR 256 MVA/550kV 60 Hz and TR 275 MVA/550kV 50 Hz: the largest elevating transformers ever made by WEG.
