WEG Motors in compliance with CCS Certification for marine applications

China Classification Society certifies WEG motors to work in shipbuilding. Equipments will operate in cranes for lifting towers of wind power generation in the country.

The certification demonstrates the technical capacity of the Chinese WEG plant to provide forced ventilation motors for Zhong Han project. It was awarded by China Classification Society, the only Chinese entity specialized in certification of products and services for marine applications.

Checking the design of the motors and testing samples were some of the items assessed by the auditors of CCS. The tests were made by the laboratory "Shanghai Testing & Inspection Institute for Electrical Equipment", appointed by the CCS for its high technology and level of service.

The 33 motors will be applied in cranes for lifting towers of wind power generation. All motors used in this project were manufactured by WEG.

"This certification will further enhance our reliability to our customers and open doors in marine segment", says Felipe Rodrigues BUHR, responsible for Quality Engineering Department in WEG China.
